This is the launch of this blog titled "Stories from Solutions". I have been accused a time or two of spinning a web and telling a pretty good story. My career and project history is full of pretty good ones and this blog is aimed at sharing them with you. Some of the best ones unfortunately I cannot discuss on the internet for fear of breach of NDA's, but these ones are good too.
This is also my first foray into online publishing. If you asked me a year ago (or a month ago for that matter) if I'd have a blog and be posting regularly, I would have let you know how far out of your mind you are. However, this blog is a solution to a problem. My problem is that I have a lot of experience and generally speaking have answers to the problems people face in our company's areas of focus: Technology, Industrial, and Recreation. The problem is how do I convey to people that I think I'd have a pretty good shot at fixing their challenges without coming across too strong. "Hi, nice to meet you - tell me all your problems because I can fix them" doesn't really make for a good opening line.
So, I start here by telling a story about problems I have seen and solved or problems I currently see and the solution I think would work with hopes that the stories resonate with you the reader, and you can connect on some level to them. I hope you find some common elements between the cast of players in these stories and your business/organization/group. If you find yourself thinking "wow, that sounds a lot like us" then I encourage you to reach out. Drop me a line and tell me your story, I'd be happy to start troubleshooting with you to find a solution.
